How much does a PMHNP earn in Missouri?

PMHNP roles we recruit across the US are advertised at roughly $125k – $175k, typically $125k entry, $145k mid-career and $175k at senior or supervisory level. In Missouri, where an individual offer lands inside that range is driven by licensure, setting, caseload and local cost of living rather than a state-wide average. Two distinct metro markets that rarely share candidates; searches need to be run separately.

What changes a PMHNP offer in Missouri

    • LPC, LCSW and LMFT are licensed by the Division of Professional Registration.
    • Setting: Outpatient psychiatry, Telepsychiatry, Community mental health price differently for the same credential.
    • Caseload cap and billable or productivity target, which decide whether a bonus is real.
    • Metro cost of living within the state; a city premium is not the same as a better offer.
    • Scarcity: The scarcest prescriber in behavioral health. Telepsychiatry has absorbed a large share of supply, which makes in-person and hybrid roles harder to fill than the salary alone suggests.

Why we do not publish a MO average

We publish what we actually see advertised on roles we recruit. We do not hold a statistically valid state-level survey, so quoting a Missouri average would be guesswork dressed as data. For official state wage estimates, use the federal source and treat it as a floor for negotiation, not a target.
